County Police ...

Massapequa Park is protected by the Nassau County Police Department which is financed with County taxes. The Village is serviced by the Seventh Precinct headquartered on Merrick Road in Seaford (573-6700). In emergencies requiring a policeman, residents should dial 911. In the event of a fire or the need of an emergency ambulance, dial the Operator and ask for the Massapequa Fire Department.

Auxiliary Police...

The village has an active volunteer Police Auxiliary which is open to men and women between the ages of 18 and 65. The Auxiliary has an official vehicle. The unit is an extension of the Nassau County Police Department providing eyes and ears for the police in the Village. Fire Department...

Fire protection for the Village is provided by the Massapequa Fire Department which has three station houses, one of which is on Front Street in the Village (see map). Expenses of the Fire District, including purchase and maintenance of facilities and equipment, and the salaries of fulltime personnel (dispatchers, etc.) are paid out of Town taxes and are itemized on the Town tax bill. Although a few full-time employees are paid, the fire department is manned primarily by volunteers who are on call around the clock. The District has five commissioners elected by the public. Four chiefs and other officials are elected by the Department membership.

The Fire Department also provides a highly trained, quick-response emergency ambulance and medical service. In the event of a fire or medical emergency, call 798-0040 or dial 0 on the telephone and ask the operator for the Massapequa Fire Department.

Local ordinance monitors ...

The Village has its own personnel who monitor the observance of parking regulations, non-moving traffic violations and other local ordinances.
