Local transportation services available to residents include the Long Island Railroad, Metropolitan Suburban Bus Authority (MSBA), and taxi.
- Long Island Railroad - The railroad provides 24 hour service from Montauk to New York City. Schedules and fares may be obtained from either of the two local ticket offices.
- Massapequa Park office is open Monday through Friday from 6:10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. (Phone 798-8686)

- Metropolitan Suburban Bus Authority (MSBA) - Buses provide transportation over much of Long Island. For routes, schedules, and fares phone 766-6722.
- Taxi - The Village awards a taxi franchise, controls rates and requires standards of service. Village Hall will investigate problems reported by residents. Rates are based on a zone system within the Village. Current rates, using the Massapequa Park railroad station as a base, are subject to change. Rates and zones are shown on the map. Trips outside the Village are beyond the control of the Village Board of Trustees. Passengers should obtain a fare quote in advance of commencing the ride. A passenger picked up in the Village and traveling solely within the Village must be taken to his/her destination before any other passenger may be taken to a destination outside the Village.
